1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Concours Sport Sedan
Super rare 4-Door Hardtop top-of-the-line Concours Chevelle with just less than 35,000 original miles. Very nicely equipped with 307 V-8, Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING, tinted glass, wire wheel covers, and radial tires. “Miss Concours” is finished in beautiful Matador Red with original black vinyl top and original black interior. According to the Protect-O-Plate, car was sold new in York, Pennsylvania and Ms. Ida, the female owner, kept it until around 2013. It was reportedly stored in her barn for around 20 years. It had a cosmetic refinishing in 2013 after the storage, was serviced, and hit the car show circuit for a few years. Most recently, it has been part of a museum collection in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
According to internet reports, “The Concours Sport Sedan came with unique side moldings and tail panel moldings and had a Concours nameplate on the front fenders. Inside was the biggest difference, with nicer upholstery on the seats and door panels, extra sound deadening, plus carpeting that went part way up the door panels. There was also some wood grained trim on the dash. In some cases the Concours actually was built with a bench seat with a fold-down arm rest & upholstery from either the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme or Buick Skylark Custom”. 1968 was the only year the Concours was available in sedans with the name going on station wagons only in 1969 & 1970.
This example starts, runs, and drives very well. It would make a great tour car for four or perfect for ‘round town cruising and car shows. Included is the Protect-O-Plate, original owner’s manual, and an original 1968 sales brochure.
