When Fred & Evelyn Mull, of Santa Ana, California, took delivery of their “loaded up” 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS-396 Convertible on November 29, 1967, they got a great deal as the manager at Fletcher Jones Chevrolet had been driving the Granada Gold beauty for a while as his demo and the 1968 Chevy’s had been introduced about 60 days prior to their purchase. The Mull’s kept the Super Sport Impala for quite a while, selling it to a Texas collector in 1976. Car still retains its original “black” California license tag.
Built in the LA plant, this unusual and mostly original Super Sport has a plethora of factory options including 325HP 396 V-8, Turbohydramatic automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, Comfortron heat & A/C (still works!), Tinted glass, deluxe seat belts, power windows, power driver’s bucket seat, tilt steering column, speed warning, remote o/s mirror, floor mats, AM Radio with 8-track tape player (inop), door edge guards, and SS Equipment which includes bucket seats and console.
After Texas, the car made its way to the ownership of a Chevy dealer in Virginia. Under his long time ownership, the car received a new white convertible top with a glass rear window, new Granada Gold paint, new shocks, new bushings, new brakes, and new power top operating pump. Interior & carpet is original. New Diamondback 15″ Redline radial tires were installed April 2025 along with a general service. Documentation includes the original Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manual, window sticker, California registration & license tag, Texas & Virginia registrations and repair receipts.
Car has always been garaged and never been exposed to any adverse weather, so no rust issues at all. Starts, runs, and drives just like 1967! This car is ready for immediate enjoyment whether you prefer touring, car shows, or simply cruising to the beach with the top down.
