1953 Chevrolet Townsman “Tin Woody” 6-passenger Station Wagon

$24,900

This rare patina “woody” is a blank canvas as it can be enjoyed as-is, rest-o-rod project, or would make a perfect rat rod.  Very solid North Carolina Barn find was used for cruising and car shows, then garage-stored for years by the most recent owner.  Upon his recent passing, it was sold to a local car dealer.  Car still retain its 235 6-cylinder, 115 HP engine and Powerglide automatic transmission, which was the same power train offered in the ’53 Corvette.  Interior is good as can be seen in the photos.

The Saddle Brown exterior finish is somewhat tired, but serviceable to use the wagon like it is. Like the paint, the original chrome is good enough but not show conditioning. What is great is the straight, solid Carolina body & floors. Car starts, runs, drives, and stops. Biggest negative is the windshield has a crack, still usable, but will need replacing at some point.  Upgrades by former collector are front disc brakes, 12 volt system, and radial tires. Car has a clean, clear North Carolina title.

Price: $24,900. Car is located in our showroom in Prosperity, SC. Delivery arranged and financing is available at jjbest.com. Please call Tom Mack at 803-351-3695 for more information on this rare Chevy.
