1949 Oldsmobile 98 Futuramic Fastback

Known to Oldsmobile as a Deluxe Club Sedan, but also known as a Fastback or Sedanette. Either way, a rarity with only 16,200 of these produced according to internet reports. ’49 was the first year of the 303 ci Rocket V-8, the 135HP V-8 engine that was to make racing history. This Almond Green car was sold new in Texas in 1949 and that title goes with the car as a historical document. Most recent owner acquired in 1989 and the car has been stored in a dry Florida warehouse since then, only accumulating some 200 miles in 35 years. Besides the Rocket V-8, this car is equipped with 4-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission, Deluxe package (includes AM radio, rear seat armrest), wide whitewall tires, and a “Wizard” air conditioning. Mileage at this time is 37,175. That is represented on the title to be original.

Because of the 35-year storage, car has recently been a recipient of restored brakes, new battery, and a tune-up. Because of the storage and age, we recommend new tires before doing any major driving.
