1935 Packard Eight 1200 Series Touring Sedan-

“ASK THE MAN WHO OWNS ONE”

Larger than most “120-Series” Packard’s at 127” wheel base, this solid example was recently purchased from a South Carolina Estate where it escaped the owner’s yearning for a Packard Rest-O-Rod because of other projects. Very solid rust-free example with older driver-quality paint & interior.  Original “straight” Eight Cylinder engine, starts, and runs very smoothly, no smoking. The standard 3-Speed manual transmission shifts smoothly with no clutch chatter. Speedometer/Odometer works and shows but 59K miles (Exempt).  Seat belts have been added in the front for safety.  Jewelry includes twin side mounts with Packard mirrors, Wire wheels with wide whitewall tires, Packard leather trunk, and Trippe Lights.  4 “Suicide” Doors.  This is a full CCCA Classic as rated by the Classic Car Club of America.  Drive and enjoy as is, or restore for Point show competition.

According to internet reports “Packard’s recollection of the formation of “Ask the Man Who Owns One”  motto was for the car company’s 50th anniversary in 1949, as James Ward Packard instructed his secretary to use the phrase. It later became the company motto of owner satisfaction.”
