1969 Shelby GT350/Hertz Edition

$129,900

(VIN 9F02M482002) A local Charlotte, NC collector found the solid original Shelby in a high performance Ford collection not far from his home in 2010. He then selected Concord, NC restorer and Mustang expert, the late Monroe Withers, to restore his prized Shelby GT-350.  The ultra-high-quality highly detailed restoration, according to the owner, “took three years and one day”.   There have only been 116 miles put on this piece of automotive history since the restoration.  According to the owner, “as well as I remember the engine was rebuilt by a local race engine builder, and is very peppy”.  He also maintains that this Shelby is one of the tightest and best driving of the many Fords that he has had restored.

It is resplendent in the original color of Grabber Blue with white Clarion Knit bucket seat interior.  As evidenced by the Marti Report that is included with the sale, the car was ordered by Hertz for its rental fleet and equipped with 3:00 Traction Loc Rear, FMX Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, Selectaire Air Conditioning, Tinted Glass, Power steering, power front disc brakes, tilt-away steering wheel, Deluxe seat belts, tachometer, and AM radio.

Every component and accessory was taken apart and individually rebuilt with attention of everything working and looking as it did when manufactured in 1969. The wheels were sent to California for factory refinishing.  When possible, NOS and restored original parts were used and the reproduction parts were kept to a bare minimum.  While the owner refuses to disclose the price of this detailed restoration, it is safe to say that a restoration of this caliber would cost in excess of $200,000 today if you could find someone to do it to these standards. Detailed restoration photos and receipts will accompany the car when purchased.

There is a “before” picture and one from the restoration process.  We have more of the restoration as well as a wrath of restoration receipts that we will be glad to share if you would kindly call us.  This is a well restored Shelby and is being offered for less than the price of the restoration.
